5 foot 6 inches tall. Fluffy brown hair that's rather unruly. A cute little button like nose. Full-ish lips which have a piercing on the left side. Freckles across the bridge of his nose (like his mom) Blue-green eyes (they lean more towards the green side).

He's ambidextrous. As a small child he struggled deciding which hand to write with, eat with, and throw with. Emery was right handed but his biological mother was a lefty. Not wanting to force Riley to make a decision... Emery encouraged him to use both his right and left. Though he tends to favor his left hand slightly more than his right when it comes to things like writing and eating.

Who does he take after; mother or father? ★
Seeing as he grew up not knowing his mother... Riley mimicked his father more. Though as he's grown up some of his facial expressions, according to those who knew his mother well; are carbon copies of hers. His personality resembles his father's when he was young. Being fairly shy, quiet, reclusive, timid, and creative. Though his mother was quite an inventor when she was young which is where he get his out of the box approach to problem solving.


Style (Elegant, shabby, etc): ★
His style is based around comfort. He typically wears layers since the weather can be unpredictable AND layers help protect one in the event of being bitten. More layers means more defense against possible infection. Some might say he looks like a 90's kid mixed with some hipster-ish vibes. He likes over sized jackets a lot and plaid flannel shirts. It's rare any of his clothing looks in pristine condition as he's often out adventuring and finding ways to rip up a decent pair of jeans.


How does he dress or what do they typically wear?: ★
Plaid, lots of plaid. He wears jeans, plaid, band tees and worn out sneakers. Sometimes he'll wear combat looking lace up boots if he doesn't want to completely destroy his comfy sneakers. He also wears beanies as he's not really a fan of brushing his fluffy hair and would much rather hide it.

Plaid flannel shirts, the occasional band shirt, baggy jackets, overalls, suspenders, the rare button down shirt or two. Mainly really casual comfy clothes since that's what he enjoys wearing.

So, in attempts to avoid getting poked and prodded; Ri does his best to mind what he eats, keeps some medical supplies stocked up, and gets exercise when he goes out on excursions (all that cardio!)

He could be better about brushing his teeth twice a day buuuuut sometimes he forgets. Overall he's not a smelly little booger. He does his best to not offend people with any foul odors (or himself as he's not got the strongest stomach around).

Do moles count? He's got a few of those. As far as serious physical flaws go... he doesn't have any. Maybe a scar here or there from close calls but that's about it.

Has excellent hearing, fast reaction times, and generally is in good shape for someone his age. He might be a tad bit shorter than the other boys in the community and gets teased about that but it's whatever.

He has his clumsy moments but those aren't too often. Though if he's lost in thought and oblivious to his surroundings he's a hazard to himself and anyone nearby. He's been known to trip over nothing..... oops.

He tends to slump over. His posture isn't that great. Normally he spends most of his time crouched over his lab tables or curled up in a large chair reading books. When he goes out in public he tries to stand up straight since he's rather short. When he's nervous he picks at the hem of his jacket sleeves or rocks on his heels. Sometimes he shrinks into himself if he's really feeling nervous.

It's light and has a melodic quality to it. His voice gets higher when he's more nervous but when he's comfortable around a person then it lowers to his normal tone.

Erratic. Unpredictable. He can go on two full days without sleep or hibernate. It just depends on his projects.

Who was it?: ★
Sage Jones. The son of his dad's college friend Skyler Jones. They grew up together inside the little community and became close friends. They're still friends even though a relationship past that never really bloomed. They joke about it but just jokingly (mainly to ruffle Farris' feathers which is entertaining)


How did it start?: ★
One day while they were playing tag outside Sage tripped and knocked Riley over. Their little faces were so close which caused Riley's little face to light up bright red like a Christmas light bulb. The two kind of stared at one another for a moment trying to see who'd speak up first or well move for that matter. It was Sage who finally broke the ice by apologizing for bulldozing poor Riley and offered the other a hand to get up. Riley timidly accepted before going back into the one room school to regain his composure.

Nope! But they became very close friends. Sage is one of the few people who can really get through to Riley when he gets stuck inside his own head. His outgoing, silly, happy go lucky nature compliments Riley's timid, reclusive, shy personality. They bring out the strengths of one another and challenge the other to be the best them they can be.

Taking a stroll around sunset. Listening to jazz or classical music in a dimly lit room with a nice beverage.

Riley didn't plan anything. It was actually Farris' idea. The two went for a stroll around sunset and found a picture perfect spot to have a quiet little picnic while they watched the sunset and the stars begin to illuminate the night sky. They sat on the picnic blanket for what felt like ages as they talked about anything and everything. After they cleaned up they had a cool dessert at Farris' house to wrap up the date. He walked Riley home and they had an cute yet embarrassing first kiss at the front door step.
